On Tuesday morning, Anita Pandey received a phone call from America. The caller tells her that she is Muna Pandey’s friend and breaks the news. After hearing the news that her daughter is not alive, Anita falls from a cliff.
‘The last conversation with my daughter was on Thursday. There was no call in the meantime. Suddenly, on Tuesday, his friend called me and told me what happened, but I did not know what happened,’ said Anita.
Anita has been living in Kandaghari, Kathmandu lately. After getting information about the incident, she informed her brother Hari Adhikari who was living in Dhankuta. Then slowly the news spread to other relatives.
Anita’s 21-year-old daughter Muna, who was studying in Houston, Texas, USA, was shot dead. He was shot and killed in his apartment near Hillcroft, Houston. He was shot in the chest and killed.
Muna went to America in 2021 as an ‘international student’ on a F. One visa. She was studying at Houston Community College.
Police were informed after Muna was found in the apartment with a bullet wound on Monday evening. When the police arrived at the scene at 5:35 PM on Monday, they found him dead. It is said that his phone was switched off two days before the murder.
Muna was studying nursing at Houston Community College. She said that she will come home only for one year after completing her studies. She used to say that she would come to Nepal only after one year after graduation. Now she is gone without ever coming back. Can’t think of anything to do now. My survival base was only Muna. Now he is not there either’ Anita shared her pain.
Anita separated from her husband and started living alone. Muna lived with her mother. Anita has come from Bhojpur via Itahari and has been living in Kathmandu Kandaghari recently.
American police have arrested one person on the charge of shooting and killing Nepali student Pandey.
It is said that the Houston Police Department of America has arrested a man who was seen in CCTV footage on the charge of murdering 21-year-old Nepali student Pandey. The Nepali newspaper New York, which is published in America, has mentioned that the suspect has been arrested on charges of Pandey’s murder.
But it is said that the details of the arrested persons are kept secret by the police. On the other hand, Anita, Muna’s mother, also said that the Nepalis in America informed that the person involved in the murder has been arrested. ‘Muna’s friends have informed me that he has been arrested on charges of murder. Even if it’s a little, the mind has become calmer’ Anita said while talking to Online Khabar.
According to New York, the suspect was arrested at a traffic stop at 8 pm on Wednesday. The arrested person has not been charged yet.
Earlier, the police had also released the photo of the suspect caught in the CCTV footage. Where on August 24 at 9:48 PM, it seems that the person reached the apartment where Muna was staying.
