The individuals entered Nepal between October 22 and 23 on tourist visas. Authorities state they violated local visa regulations by organizing a health camp under an organization named “Mercy Development” while actively distributing religious education and promoting Christianity. Nepal’s immigration laws strictly prohibit individuals on tourist visas from engaging in missionary, religious, or formal employment activities.
Following a decision by the District Foreign Nationals Monitoring Committee, local police confiscated their passports and travel documents. The individuals have been detained and their case has been forwarded to the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu for formal investigation and further legal action
