Home made pickles in Nepal are getting rare and people are opting for the factory produced pickles that appear to be counterfeit of home made pickles of mother, father, aunty and uncles.
In Nepal, a Christian elderly woman has reported about the pickle of 8 years old. The other being 5 years old. The radish pickle, vegetable pickles are popular in Nepal. The fruit pickles are there to put taste to the tongue while having meals and snacks. The meat pickles are other choices in the delicacies of Nepalese tables.

However, the home made pickle, that is healthy is getting more risk of taken place by pickle production companies with branding and patent. The patent and branding have posed risk of authorizing and claiming the homemade recipe, which in meanwhile, not ethically correct, though legally approved by government.
The factory pickle tend to replicate the recipe of pickles produced in Bhutan and India, that were supplied to Nepal decades ago. Nepal did not have proper branding of pickle as it was started as woman welfare and life skill. The threat was, it wasn’t durable as the home made pickle.

As the time passed, Nepal with some woman entrepreneurs have tried mastering the art of branded pickle, which could not compete against homemade pickles. It’s no where close to home made pickles, yet consumers have started opting for it, for conveniency.
