Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday called on the international community to stop sending weapons to Israel to stop the bloodshed in the West Bank and Gaza, pointing to the United States in particular.
Abbas said that although the number of deaths in Gaza continues to increase, Washington is providing Israel with diplomatic support and weapons for the war there. According to the Health Ministry of the Hamas-controlled area, the number of deaths in Gaza has reached 41,534.
‘Stop this crime, stop it now. Stop the killing of children and women. Stop the genocide. Stop sending weapons to Israel. This madness cannot continue. The whole world is responsible for what is happening to our people in Gaza and the West Bank,” Abbas said while addressing the United Nations General Assembly.
Most of the 2.4 million people in the besieged Gaza Strip have been displaced by the war at least once, and many have taken shelter in school buildings since the war that began with Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel.
“America stood alone and said: ‘No, the war will continue.'” He said he used the veto, “Referring to the veto repeatedly used in the United Nations Security Council to condemn Israel’s actions in Gaza,” Palestinian President Abbas said, “Using deadly weapons provided by the United States.” Israel killed thousands of innocent civilians, children and women.’
He said that Israel ‘does not deserve’ to be in the United Nations, saying that this has made Israel more excited for continuous attacks. Washington is Israel’s closest ally and supporter. The US has been supplying Israel with billions of dollars in aid and military equipment.
