Who prepared the project 2025?
The project was prepared by The Heritage Foundation, a group of hard-right think tanks close to the Conservative Party. It was established in 1973. The Heritage Foundation claims that since Ronald Reagan became president in 1980, it has prepared drafts for every president until now.
According to the Heritage Foundation, former US President Reagan liked its policy advice very much. After he became president, he provided a copy of the manifesto to every member of the cabinet. So that they can review it. The foundation provided nearly 2,000 policy recommendations to Reagan in 1981, about 60 percent of which he initiated or reimplemented in his first year in office.
Project 2025 was ready in 2023
The Heritage Foundation’s website mentions Project 2025. It was prepared in April 2023 itself. According to Al Jazeera’s report, if Project 2025 is to be implemented, Trump may face some legal challenges after coming to power.
Going to the Project 2025 website, it says ‘it will not be enough for the Conservative Party to win the 2024 election’. Along with this document, a list of people who hate leftist ideology and have rightist thinking is being prepared. After the formation of the Trump government, those selected in this way will be made part of the ‘Presidential Academy’, which will implement this policy. This project will be implemented from the first day of Trump’s presidency in 2025.
Who is behind Project 2025?
Former US President Donald Trump is not directly involved in this project. However, many of his former advisers are involved in it. Al Jazeera, citing American journalist Jude Ligum, said that at least 31 of the 38 people who wrote the draft of Project 2025 were connected to Trump in one way or another. Project 2025 is led by Kevin Roberts. He is the chairman of Heritage. He is a former Trump ally. Last February, Trump praised him and called him a person who did a ‘good job’.
Project 2025 will be directed by Paul Dance. He was the Chief of Staff in the Office of Personnel Management during Trump’s presidency. Along with them, dozens of American think tanks including Steven Grobes, Rick Dearburn are involved in this. According to Heritage, more than 100 right-wing organizations have contributed to the preparation of Project 2025.
Leaders of the Democratic Party in America are criticizing Trump and the Republican Party regarding Project 2025. That is why the presidential candidate Trump is distancing himself from this plan.
