Serious problem of loneliness in Japan: 4000 bodies found after only one month

In Japan, during the first six months of this year, 40,000 people were found dead alone at home. A recent report released by the Japanese police shows that a large number of deaths are due to loneliness.

According to Japan’s National Police Agency, the bodies of about 4,000 people were found only a month later. It was not known for almost a year that 130 people died.

According to the United Nations, Japan currently has the largest population of elderly people. And, there has emerged as a serious problem of loneliness.

With the release of this report, the Japanese police agency believes that it will expose the problem of living alone and dying alone.

ccording to data from Japan’s National Police Agency, about 37,227 people living alone were found dead in their homes. More than 70 percent of them are over 65 years old.

About 40 percent of the dead bodies were found within a day. While the bodies of about 3,393 people were found after a month. Nobody even paid attention to the remaining 130 before they were found.

According to Japanese public TV network NHK, police have given the data to a government group, which is investigating accidental deaths.

Before this year, the Japanese National Institute of Population and Social Security Research said, ‘The number of citizens aged 65 or older in the country may reach 18 million by 2050.’
