It’s quite rare but very shocking when followers of similar religion attack each other.
In Nepal, where ISKCON, the Hare Krishna followers, and disciples of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad are facing quite a challenge for misrepresenting the faith of Hinduism and Christianity, and particularly putting name of Jesus on the explanation to prove the points in the 55th verse of chapter 11 of Gita.
It reads, ” My dear Arjuna, he who engages in my pure devotional service, free from contaminations of fruitive activities and mental speculations, he who works for me, who makes me supreme goal of his life, and who is friendly to every living being-he certainly come to me.”
To explain it in terms of best example of devotees to Krishna, it’s written,
” The favorite example is Lord Jesus Christ. He was crucified by the non-devotees, but sacrificed his life for spreading GOD consciousness. Of course, it would be superficial to understand that he was killed.”
In Nepali translations, it’s even worse. It’s written that Crucifixion, death and sacrifice of JESUS is just a drama and outward hypocrisy.
And yet, the hindus are not liking even mentioning the name of Christ on the hindu religious books, though Jesus is displayed as devotee of Krishna. The other hindus have taken it as the promotion scheme of Hare Krishna for Christianity and Jesus Christ.
Usually the followers and devotees are found selling their scripture translated and explained by their guru Prabhupad on the streets of heavy trafficks of various cities in Nepal, particularly Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur.
It was during the times, when they started paddling around one of the world heritage Pashupatinath Temple of Kathmandu in the periphery of Gaushala, the devotees were attacked physically and verbally.
Some of the hindu followers are hardcore devotee of Shaivism, and it’s not surprising acts of Krishna followers to be attacked. Since the ancient times, Vaishnavism has overtaken ancient practices of Shaivism in South Asian regions particularly Nepal and India. Vaishnavism comes along with fatalism of Brahminism putting deadlock to modern development, human rights and other spiritual practices.
The ISKCON devotees are found trying to convert their already hindu fellows to the Krishna Parlami to garner financial support for their cause to spread Krishna conscious. The scripture is interpreted in such a way that it says, all the gods are just the deity and demigods and are lower than Krishna.
However in one of the shocking verse of Gita, Krishma claims that he is also greater demon and gamble in Chapter 10 verses 22-42 combined.
The other way Prabhupad confused the devotees in the world concerning Jesus Christ is by using his second name Christ to Krishna. They have the mentality that Krishna is father of Jesus Christ, Shiva, Brahmana and every other deity in the world.
Yet Jesus said in his words that everyone who came before him were all thieves and robbers.
His words have been recorded in John chapter 10 verses 8-10,
“All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
According to Hindu scriptures, Vishnu-the one who incarnated as Krishna is said to have a huge debt toward Kubera owing 11.4 million gold coins promising to pay hefty amount of interest on it. Quite funny in one of the verses in chapter 10 of Gita, you find he is Kuber as well among demigods.
But no where you can find, Krishna claiming he was Christ, neither referring to Christ as the follower to come in the future to show paths to the lost world.
With this illusion in mind, the Hare Krishna followers target to proselytize every Hindus, Christians, Muslims, Buddhist, other religious groups including atheist to Krishna devotee; and for this they are willing to do everything by claiming Krishna is greater than all.
Hence, Krishna consciousness movement is creation of confusion among various religious groups, to gain more support to build their expensive temples and land to carry out their rituals.
In defense, one of the ISKCON youtube channel posted a video on tearing the Bhagwat Gita and false accusation of putting Christ’s name of Gita. To answer that another hindu has posted in the facebook the following questions and counter message:
The devotees shook their hands! The book of Gita was torn! There is also a limit to spreading confusion!! What was special? Those who jump without understanding what it is! We first went to buy books.
After buying the book, we looked at the book. Someone said that there is Jesus in this book. The curiosity to see more than that increased. Eagerness to question also increased. And we first searched for the word Jesus. Why is this word Jesus placed here!! When asked that,,,,, as I understand it…. The ISKCON preachers who came there pushed the book buyers. And there was a little bit of talk. The face was also torn. Neither the ISKCON Gita was torn nor was the ISKCON beaten. So these ISKCONs
They are trying to rise above themselves by defaming Nepalese to become a viral trend! In other words, they are covering up their mistakes! Some social activist friends are making many objections without understanding anything! If someone was going to attack these preachers, they would have made a 10/15 second video to defame Nepali people! The camera was with ISKCON! The video will be with them! Why are they working to destroy Nepali people without showing evidence of their existence? Why is Nepali gang trying to encourage this? It’s surprising.
